East Meadow, NY… Larry Slatky, CNHA, FACHCA, NuHealth’s executive vice president of operations has been selected to receive the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Distinguished Service Award, for his outstanding volunteer work with the ACHCA during the last thirty-five years, serving both the New York chapter and the national office. The Distinguished Service Award will be presented at the 2011 ACHCA 45th Annual Convocation and Exposition being held April 29-May 3 in New Orleans. The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) is a non-profit professional membership association which provides superior educational programming, professional certification, and career development opportunities for its members. In 2003, he was named senior vice president for the NHCC where he organized the day-to-day operations for A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility, the nursing home that is part of the NHCC Health System. He maintained compliant NYSDOH and Joint Commission surveys improved operational efficiencies creating a management run facility and created structure of commitment and quality to assure quality of life and care for the resident population, families and staff of A.
