Because early detection and treatment is still a woman’s best defense against breast cancer, NuHealth’s Breast Imaging Center offers the ideal combination of technology and clinical expertise. We provide the latest in diagnostic imaging and treatment options for women of all ages. Our new all-digital mammography unit quickly provides a highly detailed picture that can be magnified to zoom in on potential abnormalities. In fact, recent studies have shown that digital mammography is significantly better in screening women under 50.

The Breast Imaging Center is also equipped to provide breast ultrasound exams, breast MRIs and digital stereotactic breast biopsies. We are also the only imaging center in the area to include a clinical breast exam as a standard part of every mammography. After careful review by our team of radiologists and other breast health professionals, you may be referred back to your primary physician or scheduled to consult with other available specialists from NuHealth’s oncology, breast surgery or plastic surgery departments.

NuHealth also brings its commitment to better breast health out into the community via the NuHealth Mammography Van, which regularly visits NuHealth’s Family Health Centers, as well as other sites throughout Nassau County.
